The Durbin family

On September 26th, Rachel went into labor, she was scheduled for a repeat c-section on 10/12. Before they were able to get her in for the c-section her uterus ripped causing them to rush her for an emergency C-section. Rachel delivered her beautiful second little boy Marcelo. Mom and baby were healthy and all was well. Unfortunately, four days later Rachel ended up back in the hospital, in the ICU on a ventilator due to complications from her c-section and her blood was not clotting. She is suffering from disseminated intravascular coagulation. They have her on dialysis for her kidneys and had trouble getting platelets to her in a timely manner due to a blood shortage. On 10/2 they found out she has a yeast infection in her blood and she suffered a seizure. She went into surgery to remove the clots that were blocking the drain. As of the morning of 10/3, they are hoping for the swelling on her brain to go down and luckily they have found platelets for Rachel. She is on dialysis around the clock currently and we are praying for a miracle. Marcelo and his big brother DJ need their mom to get better. It’s important to add before this Rachel was a healthy 22 year old with no complications during her pregnancy.

Her parents, Kim and John, are at the hospital and unfortunately unable to work due to needing to be there for their youngest daughter. Please consider helping this family during their time of need!
