The Durbins need our help!
My name is Jacquelyn.
16 years ago, I met Aubrey Durbin and she instantly became the sister I never had and always needed.
Aubrey met Josh Durbin just over 10 years ago and they got married not long after (seriously, like basically the next day.) Fortunately, Josh is quite literally the most hardworking, thoughtful and caring man I've ever met and has treated me like family since the day we met.
Josh became a father 7 years ago with the arrival of my beautiful niece Addison. Since then, they've grown their family and now also have a 5 year old named Max and a 2 year old named Masen. Having the pleasure of watching Josh and Aubrey raise these incredible children has been one of the highlights of my life and something that I hope to continue to be able to do for a very very long time.
Just shy of a year ago after going undiagnosed for over a year, Josh was diagnosed with Stage IV Infiltrative Basal Cell Carcinoma. This is the most destructive and aggressive form of skin cancer. Since this day, Josh and Aubrey have spent every waking hour working their tails off to do everything they can think of to fight this cancer. They've spoken to doctors all over the world and have read every piece of literature available on this specific type of cancer. Despite their immense efforts, on August 18th Josh was given the prognosis of having just 4 months left to live.
However, Josh is not ready to simply roll over and accept this prognosis as fact and neither is anyone else! Josh, Aubrey and their family are ready to continue to fight this, and harder than ever! Josh will be seeking specialized treatment for his cancer outside of the country.
And now he needs us! If we all give a little, it WILL add up to a lot! If we can take some of the financial burden off their plate, it will allow them the space to simply focus on beating this cancer! Josh still has a full life to live and three beautiful children to raise..
Josh is ready to continue the fight! Josh is ready to live!
