The Dylan Becker Family

The Becker family are likely known to many through active involvement in youth sports with their children, Preston (12) and Emma (10). Chau and Dylan are dedicated parents who are frequently seen encouraging their young athletes on a sports field or inside a gym. Sadly, Dylan was diagnosed with Stage 3 rectal cancer last year. Dylan’s battle has been difficult with numerous surgeries and some of the most aggressive chemotherapy and radiation used to treat cancer patients. Over the last year, Dylan, a former D1 collegiate athlete, has persevered through this struggle and continues to do his best to be the strong father and husband his family depends on. Although Dylan’s life as provider and #1 fan may look different, he has continued to love and support his family as only he can.

Recently, after more than 12 long, grueling, and frustrating months into their journey to beat this unruly disease, the family learned an unexpected and terrifying new prognosis. Recent updates have rendered Stage 4 cancer (incurable and terminal) with a life expectancy of 1-3 years. While we don’t understand the earthly purpose, Dylan and Chau continue to work diligently to keep their faith and family as strong as possible. If you have been around them in the past year, you know that this family continues to fight the good fight courageously and optimistically. They are determined to continue living their lives and raising their young children as normally as possible despite the unimaginable circumstances they face daily.
