The Ealing Club Robert Hokum Fund
Donation protected
The Ealing Club Community Interest Company was established by Robert Salmons (aka Hokum) & Alistair Young in December 2011 in order to highlight the blues-rock heritage of Ealing and wider West London. Initial fundraising facilitated a blue-plaque ceremony on 17th March 2012 that commemorated the original location of the Ealing Blues Club, a place fondly remembered by the golden generation of British Rock Musicians and journalists...... in particular the Rolling Stones.
Highlighting West London music heritage has bolstered local festivals such as the Ealing Blues Festival (founded by Robert) while websites, print publications, exhibitions, talks, small gigs and even a successful feature film helped inform a wider public about the story of the Ealing Club (and much elsewhere)
On 19th October 2024, The Rock Hall of Fame in the US inducted Alexis Korner for his musical influence in a video clip presided over by Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones.
It is thanks to Robert Hokum, his work at the Ealing Blues Festival & the Ealing Club that so many are re-discovering this important music story while inspiring better live music opportunities for the future.
