In memory of Brentley Ehmann

I'm Amy Galm, director of CAPPSKIDS  I met Summer more than ten years ago while she was seeking care for her son Brentley. We connected and sent her a cranio blanket. We kept in touch from there. A few years later, Summer and her friend Shelby (another Cranio mom) decided that families thrive when being cared for and thought about. The duo started a NFP called Cranio Care Bears and the rest is history.

 

Summer and Ryan's son Brentley had surgery when he was a baby for a rare type of Craniosynostosis called Fronto Sphenoidal Synostosis. Brentley recovered beautifully and has always been an active, smart, friendly young man. Brentley is also a wonderful and loving brother.

 

On Friday 4/22, Brentley became very ill with severe head pain and vomiting. He was crying in pain so his family rushed him to the ER. He was admitted although they could not find the source. They did extensive testing, MRIs, blood work, CT Scan and saw nothing - they even removed his newly placed braces in hopes that might help. Even on morphine, Brentley cried out in pain. The doctors told the Ehmanns that it looked like Brentley had a complex migraine and they began treatment. Brentley did not show any signs of getting better. They decided to give him another MRI - during this MRI, Brentley crashed and stopped breathing. They saw severe brain swelling on the MRI. He has since been placed on life-sustaining support and a pressure monitor. His brain pressure is too high with no way to get it down. This is where we stand.

 

The Ehmanns will need some support with expenses as this continues to play out. The Ehmanns can also use your prayers.

 

Please pray for healing and comfort for Brentley and watch over the Ehmanns as they face the unthinkable.

 

 

 

The funds will be distributed directly to the Ehmanns.  The funds will be used to help defray unforeseen expenses due to this circumstance.
