The Ellie Project Playground

The Ellie Project has shared the story of now-4-year-old Ellie while she has fought cancer for the past 824 days. The Project has been an initiative in Toowoomba, Australia, where we have set short and intentional projects that invite the help of the community and those connected with the story.

Ellie finishes her chemotherapy on 30 April 2023 but will continue to have a compromised immune system. Sadly, this means that Ellie and kids like her who are fighting cancer, cannot play on playgrounds that are typically germy or have inappropriate designs for vulnerable children.

To celebrate the end of Ellie's treatment, The Ellie Project is building a playground at the new Jenny Black Cancer Wellness Centre in partnership with Hope Horizons, Toowoomba. The playground will be carefully designed for immune-compromised and weak children who need safe and sterile places to play. Allowing siblings to play again, this playground will serve the whole family, as well as every single family who is affected by cancer in the region.

We are aiming to raise $8240 for the 824 days that Ellie has fought cancer. Help us with The Ellie Project's final project as we build a safe space for little people to be kids again.
