The Endless Road - A Documentary on Tommy Emmanuel
Spende geschützt
There has been a documentary made about Tommy Emmanuel’s life and music called The Endless Road. It has screened at numerous film festivals and has received critical praise and awards including 'Best Music Documentary' at the 2019 Sydney Film Festival and 'Best Documentary' at the 2019 Liverpool Film Festival.
The Endless Road is Tommy Emmanuel’s journey from the Australian outback to Music City USA. It's a story of a child guitar prodigy dedicating his life to becoming the world's greatest acoustic guitarist. There are revelations of dark family secrets which send Tommy into a battle with addiction that threatens to destroy his career, his family, and his life. The film features appearances by Barry Gibb, Olivia Newton-John, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Steve Wariner, Jason Isbell, Eric Idle, and many others. It dives into his relationship with his hero and mentor, Chet Atkins. It also includes one of the last on-camera interviews with Tommy’s brother, Phil Emmanuel.
This story deserves to be heard and YOU can be a part of it!
In order to release this documentary commercially, we are required to pay new licensing fees to companies such as Universal, Sony, ABC, and even the Olympics for the rights to use archival video footage and music that is no longer controlled by Tommy. To date we have paid $58,000 for film festival licensing. To be allowed to release Tommy's film worldwide, we would need to pay another commercial licensing fee that we estimate to be $100,000. We are hoping to raise the bulk of this money by March 31, 2022. Hopefully, this film will inspire you just like Tommy’s music has inspired so many. Tommy's story should be shared with the world and YOU can make a real impact by getting involved!!
