The Eric, Alana, & William Joines Fundraiser

On behalf of Fighting Cancer Today, we would like to thank you for considering joining us to support the Joines family. Eric, Alana, and William's lives changed overnight after after Eric was diagnosed with a rare form of skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma in September of 2021. This cancer has eaten through the nose, tissue bone, and part of Eric's eye socket. After more than four surgeries, 33 rounds of radiation, numerous trips to St. Louis for treatment, and a loss of income, they need our support. Eric most recently found out he has lung cancer and is having difficulty breathing. Our goal in helping this family is to raise a minimum of $4,500 to cover their two-month living expenses, hotel stays, food, and gas for Eric's upcoming procedure that will take place before the end of the year. We humbly ask for your support in helping us raise funds so they can continue in this fight for their lives.

The Joines Family is very active in the Southern Illinois Community. Eric has supported River Radio, local churches, and schools for the last 20 years. Alana was employed for over ten years by SIU Credit Union and now works three jobs as a Paraprofessional at Carbondale Middle School, school bus driver, and teaches trombone lessons. Alana has not given up hope and is still working towards her Special Ed Teaching Degree. On top of this, William, who is only ten years old, has developed terrible separation anxiety and worries about his dad dying since this all started.
