'The Evangelist Project' is a mobile evangelist ministry seeking to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ! Read below for the full story and mission.

Hi everyone! My name is Aaron, a follower of Jesus, and I am super excited to launch 'The Evangelist Project'. To understand how this project came about, I would love to share my testimony...

My entire upbringing I thought that I was a Christian. I went to 'Christian' schools, tried to be a good, straight-edge kid, and believed since I was doing the right things and called myself a Christian, that I was one.

My life revolved around sports and that became my identity more than I even realized. It was the true authority figure that kept me living morally and on the straight and narrow. Throughout my athletic journey, I maintained my own standard of 'goodness' that was really only in comparison to the rest of the world around me.

Although I maintained the appearance of a good kid, the faith I thought I had was only as strong as my own righteousness. If I was "doing the right things" I felt like I could go to church, pray, and fit in...but when I had seasons as I got older where I wasn't living as righteously, I had no desire or interest to be around any Christian community.

Immediately after college, I was blessed to be able to reach my lifelong dream of making it to the professional ranks and signing with the Los Angeles Rams as a wide receiver in 2018. But as quickly as that dream came true, it was all taken away. I had an injury that was never able to heal properly and that forced me to have to walk away from that career.

The identity I had in athletics and also being able to financially provide for my family became like dust. It left me feeling lost, worthless, and having no reason to want to even be alive.

Over the next 2 years, I experienced the darkest moments of my life, seeking fulfillment and identity through the things of this world. The authority and veil of sports was taking away and the real me was revealed...a dead, pitiful, wicked human.

Near the beginning of 2021, as I was still living in my sin, I suddenly felt this immense weight on me. The best way I can illustrate this is, if you took a giant weight and laid it on a dead person, they would not feel a thing... but if you were able to cause life to come into that dead person, they would feel that weight. And that is exactly how I felt and this weight was my own sin. By the Lord's grace and mercy, He brought me back to life to where I could even feel this weight.

As this weight became heavier and heavier, I felt God's presence convicting me. I felt His presence telling me I had to stop, but I didn't know how. My whole understanding of Christianity before was that I had to stop sinning, get my act together, be righteous and then I can come to Him. But it was in this helpless moment, that my eyes turned to the Cross. I saw that Jesus was the only one who could take this weight off of me. I repented and believed, forsaking my own righteousness and placing my full faith and trust in Him. Jesus saved me and I have never been the same.

My eyes being opened to the truth of the gospel radically changed my life and set me on the course to bring this good news of salvation to as many as I can during my sojourning on this earth because I know it is the power of God for salvation to all who believe.

And the gospel truth is this:

The LORD who created everything is a holy God. We see in the Scriptures that He is a perfect, righteous, just, loving, steadfast, faithful, merciful, good God.

He created man and woman in His image to walk in perfect fellowship with Him and have dominion over all creation. (Genesis 1-2)

But our first parents, Adam and Eve, chose to disobey God and turn their own way (Genesis 3). This was not just some small act of disobedience, but an act of rebellion that put a curse on all of creation. The biggest curse being that our very nature is sinful, and every human since Adam and Eve has inherited this same sin nature. (Ephesians 2:1-3)

This has left all of humanity separated from God. Our very nature and our sin caused us to become enemies of this perfect God. Since the Lord is just, He must judge the world in righteousness (Psalms 9:8) and the Scriptures tell us that "None is righteousness, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one." (Romans 3:10-12)

And we see the Scriptures tell us that "the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23), which leaves us with the biggest question one could ever ask, "How can a good, righteous, and just God forgive and make peace with sinful, wicked man?" This is quite the divine dilemma that we all have to face.

God cannot just forgive guilty sinners, in the same way a good judge cant just forgive a guilty criminal. There must be a punishment dealt to the guilty party. He by no mean will clear the guilty (Exodus 34:6-7).

We know that if God is good, then he must be righteous and just, but we also know that He is equally loving and merciful.

This is where we direct out eyes to the Cross.

We see in the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John) that God entered humanity as the person of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He lived a perfect life, walking in perfect obedience to God's law. Although being innocent of sin, He willing went to the Cross to be crucified bearing the sins of His people (Philippians 2:1-8).

Now on the cross, Jesus bore our sins and He drank the full cup of God's wrath. The holy wrath of God was poured out on Jesus, satisfying the demands of His divine justice for our sin, which is why Jesus said on the Cross "it is finished" right before He died (John 19:30). There is no greater love than this.

And on the third day, Jesus rose from the grave to show that God has accepted the payment of His sacrifice. He defeated death and gave victory to all who repent and believe in Him (1 Corinthians 15:54-57)

This divine dilemma is solved through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, as God's wrath has been satisfied and His mercy has been extended to all who place their hope in Christ. We have been reconciled to a holy God and He has made peace with us through His blood (Colossians 1:20).

After placing our faith in Him, He promises to indwell us with the Holy Spirit who will sanctify us and seal us until the day the Lord returns again (Ephesians 1:13-14).

When Jesus returns, all believers will appear with Him glory and shall enjoy him for eternity (Colossians 3:4).

This is the truth of the gospel and Jesus said that the truth will set us free.

THE MISSION

As this gospel message is of eternal importance and must be proclaimed to all of creation, the Lord has blessed me with a gift and zeal to preach this good news which sparked The Evangelist Project.

God has put this divine burden on my heart to travel throughout the my community and the country to share the good news to all who have ears to hear.

The core foundation of this ministry is prayer, evangelism, and discipleship.

We plan to tell the stories of the lost we meet through the country and create a community of intercessors. Practically, we will post an image and brief summary of the lives of the souls we meet and share the gospel with. We hope that our online community will pray with us for their salvation and whatever needs and struggles they have. Accompanied with the prayer and evangelism it our mission for those who have heard and responded in faith to the gospel to be connected to a local, biblical church to be discipled and mature in their walk with Christ.

We also have a heart to feed and cloth the homeless and provide tangible needs for them along the journey. Using Soul Winner Threads as a tool to accomplish that goal, we will be able to host pop-up events that allow us to fund these missions.

The next step for The Evangelist Project is to purchase a sprinter van! The van will allow us to travel efficiently from place to place and give us space to store all the equipment needed to accomplish the work that God has called us to do.

"...for, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.' How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!' "

Romans 10:15
