The face of MS -Maribel Perez

Hi Y'all.
I met Maribel in the Office Deli in 2016, she is 29 years old and a single mother of an 8 years old girl. You may know her if you ever had lunch at Peppercini's next door, she is always preparing your favorite salads with a big smile.
In the beginning of 2017 she started having issues walking, followed with severe pain on her legs and hips, and ended up been hospitalized for over a week without been able to walk. Unfortunately, In May 2017, she was diagnose with MS.
She paid for an initial treatment with injections (Copaxone 20mg) which allowed her to gain mobility but had severe side effects on her, not allowing her to complete the treatment. Since then she had two relapses and it’s been very difficult for her to stay strong. The MS foundation had help her by providing a Cooling Vest (summer heat affects her a lot) and providing a contact of a Doctor in Florida, the foundation will cover the first visit but not the trip expenses (or the following treatment).
She is on a 3 years waiting list to see a Neurologist to be able to run more studies and find out progress of her sickness and an alternative treatment to improve her quality of life. As the sole provider to her daughter, this is a must for her.
We want to help Maribel to get the help she desperately needs, visit with the Neurologist and get the appropriate treatment. Our goal is to raise 9,000 dollars in 2 months, this is based on the cost of the previous treatment and additional for studies and Doctor visits, but to be sincere, anything counts!
I am conscious and respect the fact that we each are free to decide who we help and were we do our charities, so please consider Maribel’s cause and have direct impact on someone’s life.
Due to some administration issues I will be collecting the funds and giving a Check to Maribel.
Help spread the word!
Thanks!
