The Family of Destini Smothers needs our help!!!

My name is Sulaiminah Burns. I am fundraising for the family of Destini Smothers. The family would like to hire a private investigator to locate Kareem Flake Sr. her partner and the last person to see her alive.

They also need support caring for Destini's young sons Kareem Jr. (11) and Kaden (4).

On November 03, 2020 Destini went missing in Queens NY. Her partner Kareem Flake Sr. claimed that she jumped out of their car in the middle of the night during a heated dispute, and that he hadn't seen her since and did not know where she was. Destini's family desperately searched for her. They were given the runaround by numerous agencies and not much was done to locate her. On March 11, 2021 a concerned neighbor called in an unfamiliar car that had been parked on their street for months. The body of Destini Smothers was found inside the trunk. This was the SAME CAR her partner claimed she jumped out of.

Initially authorities believed that she succumbed to blunt force trauma to the head. A bullet was later discovered lodged in her skull. Despite all of this, there has been no media search for Kareem Flake Sr. There have been no news stories imploring viewers to tell the authorities where he is.

Destini leaves behind two bright, handsome young men who I have had the pleasure of meeting on numerous occasions. Kareem is smart, funny and loves to read but you can see the sadness in his eyes. Kaden is an adorable toddler, with a mischievous sparkle in his eyes and boundless energy. They are wrapped in love by their Grandmother Simone King (Destini's mother) and Grandaunt Shareen King (who is raising)the boys) but the loss of their mom effects them.

Destini Smothers loved her children more than anything. In family photos she is often smiling and holding or kissing one of them. Videos of her show a bubbly, happy woman enjoying life with her children and family. Always dancing, singing, laughing....that was Destini. Destini did not deserve what happened to her....no one does. Her children do not deserve to grow up in a world without her. Kareem and Kaden lost so much on November 3rd 2020. Their mom and their dad....he has not been in touch with them since that fateful night. I am asking anyone who can, to please help bring her killer to justice and to support her beautiful children.
