The Family of Fallen Officer Celena Hollis

THE HOLLIS FAMILY NEEDS, AND HAS MORE THAN EARNED, OUR SUPPORT!
Denver Police Officer Celena Hollis courageously intervened in a gang fight during a Jazz in the Park event and paid with her life on June 24, 2012. At the time she was raising her daughter, Amyre, having left the Detroit PD for what she thought was a better and safer life with Denver PD. Celena was survived by her mother Dorothy, father Vincent, and sister Candice, all three of whom quickly became beloved members of the DPD family.
Dorothy & Vincent left their lives in Detroit and moved into Celena’s Denver home to continue raising Amyre there. (The three of them are pictured above during much happier times). Both Candice and Amyre are now raising children of their own.
The past several years have been especially hard on Dorothy and Vincent, neither of whom were able to work during the pandemic. But sadly that was just the beginning. Dorothy lost her eyesight in May of 2022, and then was diagnosed with uterine cancer in December, leading to surgery in January, and now chemotherapy.
Needless to say, this series of trials has left the family in dire financial straits.
As a woman of faith, Dorothy covets your prayers for healing and provision first and foremost! As you think about what you can give financially, consider what the Hollis family has given, the very life of their daughter, and then give back to them until you feel it.
All donations will go towards Dorothy's medical bills and support the family.
