Support the family of the artist Fathi Ghaben

We are the family of the famous Palestinian plastic artist Fathi Ghaben,(From the second wife)

and we number 5 individuals. We are addressing you today, as a bereaved and broken family, and with hearts overwhelmed by pain and sorrow. We are addressing the living conscience in you. We are addressing everyone who has humanity. All we ask of you is to extend a helping hand and assistance in order to save our sick mother.

And to save the rest of our family to travel outside Gaza,‏To reach safety, to pay for our mother's operation, to pay for the necessities of life, such as food, drink, daily treatments, clothing, etc., and in an emergency, we need approximately 35000 euros. .as there is no longer a place for life. Our house has been destroyed and my father’s artwork was torn apart under the rubble of our house. My father’s artwork was the future of the family. It is my father’s legacy, years of fatigue. Age and we have no future left

We recently lost our dear father,

Fathi Ghaben, tragically and horribly during the aggression against Gaza, and this grief was exacerbated by our having to flee from our humble home in Gaza City to the south of the Strip, after the family home was destroyed with all its memories and possessions.

The father left us after a bitter journey of illness and suffering. The destruction of his artistic works worsened his health condition and constituted a strong shock for him. Then, his leaving, as an old man, on foot from the north of the Gaza Strip to its south, and breathing in the fumes and soot of war, made his condition worse. All he hoped for was to breathe some air, but unfortunately he was prevented from doing so, and the occupation did not allow him to leave the Gaza Strip for treatment.

Fathi Ghaben has dedicated his life to the Palestinian cause, love and peace, and has received many international awards, including the Federation of Associations Medal in Tokyo, Japan.

He was the Palestinian Artist of the Year in 1993 and was honored with Personality of the Year by the European Union Representative and the Norwegian Ambassador. Attached is his photo with the European Union Representative and the Norwegian Ambassador. He received the Creativity Medal from the President of the State and many awards, as he immortalized the stories of our people through his powerful art. His passion and courage did not fade even in the face of difficulties. In his youth, the Israeli occupation forces arrested him because of his works, which they confiscated and stole, yet he continued to create, resist, and inspire.

Our dear friends, from all the peoples of the free world, we are now on the verge of destruction. We no longer have a roof over our heads, nor even a mat to sit on.

Today, as a family of 5 individuals, we are struggling to survive, deprived of the most basic conditions for decent living: no shelter, no safety, not even food or drink, and no clear future on the horizon.

We, the children of the late activist and visual artist Fathi Ghaben, turn to you carrying the kind and loving spirit of our father, to ask you for help as much as possible, perhaps humanity.
