The Family of Michael Beeby

Hi, my name is Kristina, sister of Alicia, brother-inlaw to Michael and Aunt to her two beautiful children Kate & Alex, with her permission I am setting up this fundraising page to help them financially after receiving the most devastating news on Saturday the 5th August 2023.

Michael was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident on the Mount Lindsay Highway on Saturday morning.

Alicia had the police arrive at her doorstep to hear that Michael had been airlifted to the Gold Coast University Hospital and to make her way there. We received the news that he had sustained a terrible head injury on top of many others. They performed surgery to his brain to try and stop the bleeding on his brain and relieve the pressure but unfortunately he had to much internal bleeding to his brain and too much pressure to survive.

After receiving the news from the surgeons, Michael was placed in ICU whilst the family, friends and his two young children Kate (8) Alex (6) were so brave and had a short amount of time to hold Daddy’s hand just one more time.

Michael was a donor and had surgery on Monday to donate his gifts to their new recipients. Some of these included a liver, heart, lungs, pancreas and two kidneys which were all received by the recipients on Monday including a baby who is doing really well today after receiving a part of Michael’s liver.

Alicia, Kate and Alex lives have been turned upside down overnight. Michael kept the house going by providing for his family but unfortunately that will all come to a very quick halt.

I am asking for those that can help and spare some funds to assist Alicia so we can take away the financial burden and she can concentrate on Kate and Alex to get them through the very dark and hard days ahead.

Alicia is always the first to step up and offer help to other people, but I feel this is the time we can help her. Nothing for her is ever too much trouble.
