Sherry Schmidt's Funeral Expenses

Sherry Schmidt was a beautiful soul who left us way too soon on 6/5/2023 at the young age of 29. This a tremendous and tragic loss for her family and friends. She touched so many hearts, and she will forever be missed.

There are so many words to describe her - an amazing daughter, an incredible big sister, a best friend to many, an MMA fighter with fierce intensity, a proud Filipina, motocross/bike enthusiast, a beautiful model, and so much more. All in all, Sherry is an inspiration to follow your heart, live LOUD, and love HARD.

Please donate to this GoFundMe in her memory. The funds will go to her immediate family to cover the costs of her funeral service and any expense they need during this sorrowful time. The funds will be deposited to Joel & Jocelyn Cani (Sherry's Mother & Stepfather), and then will be disbursed to the family who has covered the funeral expenses. As there are multiple parties, it will be based on a percentage.

(To ensure clarity, please see this example. Family member 1 put 50% and family member 2 put up 50% to cover the funeral expenses. The donations will then be split accordingly, 50/50, to each party. If family member 1 put up 60% and family member 2 put up 40%, the donations will then be split accordingly, 60/40, to each party. Please note the funeral expenses include the luncheon, novena prayer nights, 40 day celebration in traditional Filipino style, etc. If there is anything in excess of this, the family will donate the funds to the communities Sherry has served (i.e MMA Gyms that she has participated in, her churches, etc.).

(Please note that we have raised the goal to $20,000 to ensure ALL expenses are covered. As anyone who has gone through something similar knows, this sudden and unexpected loss leads to not just the costs of the funeral, but time away from work to grieve, which can lead to falling behind. Let's lift this burden entirely for Sherry's family.)
