Support the Fangu Family

Hello, my name is Mele Fangu, the oldest child of John Latu Fangu and the granddaughter of Mele Fe'ofa'aki Fangu. On Sunday March 10th, my father suffered a severe stroke and there was hemorrhaging in the back of his brain. The doctors immediately took him to get surgery when he arrived at the University of Utah Hospital. After that, he had been under a medically-induced coma. He underwent a craniotomy a couple days after to remove vascular malformations of the brain that caused the bleeding. As of right now, we are waiting for him to wake up. The day after my father was admitted into the hospital, my grandmother was also admitted and had to undergo heart surgery the next day. She is also in the hospital recovering.

I've been asked by many friends and family, especially those out-of-state, about how they can help. So, I've set up this account for those that would like to contribute in this way.

My father was the main provider in our family house. There are 9 of us children, 4 of whom live in Hawaii with my mother and 1 serving a mission in the Philippines. With him in the hospital, it has put a financial strain on our family, even with my siblings and I all working. Therefore, this fundraiser would help our family stay afloat financially for the next couple of months while my father has time to recover.
