The Feel Good Project

My name is Preston Kanter. I just finished 8th grade and will be a Freshman in August this year. I am working on a community service project for school. I am calling it “The Feel Good Project.” I see homelessness in Lodi as a social problem. I’m sure most people have seen or heard of the tent camp on Turner Road by Highway 99.
I plan to put together as many hygiene bags for the homeless as possible this Summer. I have coordinated with the Salvation Army on Sacramento Street in Lodi to pass out these bags on shower days. I hope my idea will help people clean up and feel more confident for job interviews targeting those who WANT to get help. I know this won’t solve all their problems but will help boost their self-esteem.
These Bags will include items like:
Clean new WHITE T-shirts & underwear
Toothbrush & Toothpaste
Shampoo & Conditioner
Soap & holder
Laundry detergent
Razors & Shaving Cream
Sunscreen
Nail Clippers/nail brush
Feminine Hygiene Products
