The Fellowship of the Springs is a two-part documentary series that is schedule to be released nationally on PBS on earth day, April 22, 2021. We are raising money to complete the film, and to get it in front of as many people as possible through a video podcast series in the months leading up to its national release, and limited theatrical screenings in Florida. The documentary is about Florida’s globally unique springs and their avoidable march toward destruction. Florida has the largest and most springs on earth, a collection of blue jewels dotting the state’s northern forests. As unique as the geysers of Yellowstone National Park, these springs and the aquifer that feeds them make up the backbone of north Florida’s economy, touristic allure and wildlife. But with flow levels declining and nitrate pollution on the rise, the springs today bear the scars of a profound struggle. Their survival is uncertain. Will Florida’s springs be around for future generations?
