Help FHM safeguard our collection while we find a new home

On March 14 after two years of prolonged funding negotiation, the Fashion History Museum received a sudden notice that the City of Cambridge was terminating our lease and giving us 14 days to vacate the building.

As you might expect, it's difficult to pack and move a collection of over 11,000 artefacts, 7000 books, mannequins, furnishings, and all the other things that a museum needs to function on such short notice.

Our museum's collection is held in public trust for the benefit of our community, and we have a duty to care for every single item no matter what so we are asking our FHM community for help so that we can continue to preserve and safeguard it for future generations while we look for a new home.

---

We have already secured safe storage space, but packing supplies and movers experienced enough to transport our collection do not come cheap - especially with rush fees involved!

All funds donated will be used for moving and storage expenses. If there is anything left over after we pay the final bills it will be put toward the continued care of our collection.

Thank you for your support.
