Breathing Hope for Baby Matteo

Hello dear friends.

My name is Matteo Apollo Richmond Bator and I've had a

really tough start to my life.

But I am a little fighter!

All my parents' joy of a newborn was lost in a tangle of

emergency interventions and life support systems. No

touching, no bonding, no visitors allowed.

I don't want to be a burden on anyone. I will do my very

best to make my own way in the world. I just don't know

how much I will be able to achieve without a lot of special

needs support. Perhaps you can help?

My mummy, Nina Richmond Goring and I were both rushed

into emergency the moment I was born on May 31st 2023.

I couldn't breath, was reanimated several times and with my

heart rate dropping was taken by twelve medics to the Zurich

University Hospital neo natal and then the Children's Hospital

ICU where I was the sickest child on the ward with endless

tubes sticking in all parts of my tiny body.

Mummy had surgery to save her life. My father Florian, and

grandparents, Trevor Goring and Chris Richmond were

terrified about losing us both.

I have been on Morphine and a cocktail of eight other

medications since day one, had two bone surgeries for Choanal Atresia under general anaesthetic and had feeding and oxygen tubes to keep me alive.

I am scheduled for an unknown number of

surgeries in the future depending on how things evolve and

must be monitored on a regular basis once I am allowed to go

home.

The excellent doctors here say there are a lot of unknowns

but that one thing is for sure, I will need a lot of help, many

​therapeutic treatments and a great deal of special needs care throughout my life.

Trevor have suggested setting up this GoFundMe page and

my parents at this point would appreciate all the help they can

get. Mummy is slowly recovering, puts a brave face on it all,

( as ballet dancers do) and is helping me as much as she can.

My daddy plays music to me on his guitar and sings me

lullabies.
