The fight of my life - Terry Mannix ❤️
Donation protected
On the 21st of May this year my very special freind Terry had the worst news any 26year old could wish for.
Terry had been ill for some time, feeling exhausted most days but just put it down to over doing it. But when a rash appeared still thinking nothing of it and a “swollen gland” he went to his doctor's who sent him for a routine blood test and a biopsy, Within only a matter of days the results were back and it wasnt good news it wasn’t a swollen gland or just any normal rash, it was a lymph node and blood reacting to something abnormal in his body causing this awful rash .
The doctors told him the heartbreaking, unexpected news that Terry was now fighting STAGE 3B Hodgkin Lymphoma (a type of blood cancer) with it only going to stage 4….
Of course this came as a complete shock to his friends, family and all that know him but especially Tel.
Stage 3B Hodgkin Lymphoma meant one thing that Terry would have to undergo chemo therapy within a week of finding out such life changing news.
Sadly after having numerous amounts of chemo therapy his condition did not improve. Doctors told tel and his family that unfortunately he would now need intense escalated chemo if he was to have any chance of surviving. And his survival rate was slowly dropping….This would mean more hospital visits/stays, longer days of treatment, operations, feeling weaker and weaker every day. And getting very poorly! but if you know tel he still throughout this awful experience has tried his best to remain hopeful and keep his spirits up and somehow keep a smile on his face, But this has ment due to the intense chemotherapy he needs he has no longer been able to work. Before getting diagnosed with Cancer Tel was very active, up and out every day working at a local funeral director's, he loved to work. But due to not working it saddens me to say that Terry has found himself fighting for benefits from the government that he should be entitled to. Feeling so weak and rather than continue to battle for these benefits like having to do silly things like turn up to a job centre on days of chemo (which is just ridiculous) its ment he has had to use his savings throughout all of this. This breaks those who love tels hearts as he has always worked so hard to give back to others always and support himself in normal circumstances. So whilst now going through the hardest time of his life i am hoping with all the help, love and support of raising some money will help give Terry the help he needs to live without worrying and take away a bit of a burden so he can concentrate on getting better! However small the amount every single donation will help towards these uncertain times ahead for Terry and his family.
I will keep you updated with any news and would like to thank you all for supporting in any way you can.
Kind Wishes Nina xx
