Hi, my name is Kasia, I am based in Berlin and part of a small transnational film team, together with Leandro, Domingo and Hans, who live in Chile.

Together we started an interdisciplinary project in the border town of Colchane, in the Tarapacá region, at the Chilean-Bolivian border, listening to the narratives and desires of migrants who arrive there after their arduous exodus. These tales are the starting point of the poetic confrontation of our documentary essay film "Constitución Nómada". At an altitude of over 3700 meters above sea level, the experimental use of sound and image deconstructs the process of Chilean constitution-making through the ideas of state, citizenship, nationality and sovereignty. The documentary project, which sees itself as an artistic intervention, includes interviews and encounters with latinamerican migrants and several political gatherings in the tents of the initial reception camp where they stay. By recording the processes and contexts they experience when entering the country, the geographical and climatic conditions they face on their journey and the communication with social actors of Chilean migratory movements, we thus want to create a tapestry of knowledge and solidarity.

The project is currently supported by the Goethe Institut, the August Bebel Institut Berlin, medico international, European Alternatives and Connectas. This journalistic platform promotes the exchange of information on key issues for the development of the Americas. Cooperation with organizations such as Coordinadora Nacional de Inmigrantes Chile, Migra Chile and Movimiento de Acción Migrante is fundamental to the project.

From the material we gathered in the project's first stage, the interviews and meetings recorded during this period will serve as inputs to develop and deepen the narrative discourse, approaching the script and its structure. In this way, we will execute the post-production of the first version of our film essay "Constitución Nómada" which will allow us to generate visibility, strategic alliances and the search for funding for the project. The interdisciplinary and trans-local collective is thus already in various collaborative discussions with, for example, self-organized migrant movements in Chile and other international artists.

We are a small, interdisciplinary, transnational team working voluntarily on the project so far. To continue the project, we rely on the support of many different actors. Hola, me llamo Kasia, vivo en Berlín y formó parte de un pequeño equipo de cine transnacional, junto con Leandro, Domingo y Hans, que viven en Chile.

Juntos iniciamos un proyecto interdisciplinario en la ciudad fronteriza de Colchane, en la región de Tarapacá, en la frontera chileno-boliviana, escuchando los relatos y deseos de los migrantes que llegan allí tras su arduo éxodo. Estos relatos son el punto de partida de la confrontación poética de nuestro ensayo documental "Constitución Nómada". A más de 3.700 metros de altura, el uso experimental del sonido y la imagen deconstruye el proceso constituyente chileno a través de las ideas de Estado, ciudadanía, nacionalidad y soberanía. El proyecto documental, que se concibe a sí mismo como una intervención artística, incluye entrevistas y encuentros con migrantes latinoamericanos y varias asambleas políticas en las carpas del campamento de recepción inicial donde se alojan. Con el registro de los procesos y contextos que experimentan al ingresar al país, las condiciones geográficas y climáticas que enfrentan en su viaje y la comunicación con actores sociales de los movimientos migratorios chilenos, queremos así crear un tapiz de conocimiento y solidaridad.

El proyecto cuenta actualmente con el apoyo del Goethe Institut, el August Bebel Institut de Berlín, medico international, European Alternatives y Connectas. Esta plataforma periodística promueve el intercambio de información sobre temas clave para el desarrollo de las Américas. La cooperación con organizaciones como la Coordinadora Nacional de Inmigrantes Chile, Migra Chile y el Movimiento de Acción Migrante es fundamental para el proyecto.

A partir del material que reunimos en la primera etapa del proyecto, las entrevistas y reuniones registradas durante este período servirán como insumos para desarrollar y profundizar el discurso narrativo, abordando el guión y su estructura. De esta manera, ejecutaremos la postproducción de la primera versión de nuestro ensayo cinematográfico "Constitución Nómada" que nos permitirá generar visibilidad, alianzas estratégicas y la búsqueda de financiamiento para el proyecto. Así, el colectivo interdisciplinario y trans-local ya se encuentra en diversas discusiones de colaboración con, por ejemplo, movimientos de migrantes auto-organizados en Chile y otros artistas internacionales.

Somos un equipo pequeño, interdisciplinario y transnacional que trabaja voluntariamente en el proyecto hasta ahora. Para continuar el proyecto, contamos con el apoyo de muchos actores diferentes.
