The FotoFlite shipping images heritage collection
Donation protected
Hi, we are Nige and Louise,
Earlier this year, we purchased the world's largest collection of aerial shipping images, dating back to 1947. The collection comprises over one million negatives and digital images and is unique.
For us, purchasing the collection was about maintaining it intact and available as a valuable resource for marine professionals and shipping enthusiast alike. It was not centred on personal financial gain, but to preserve it for future generations. Yes, we were hoping to make a small business from it, which we needed to do, to rent the premises it is housed in.
Sadly, this has not been the case, and for us to continue, we have chosen to fundraise to keep the collection going. We have been unable to secure any heritage funding or grants, as nothing is available to us. We have a website at www.fotoflite.com. We rely heavily on small print orders and digital uploads, but this does not cover our overheads and allow us to preserve the collection indefinitely.
We have used all our savings to preserve this heritage collection and humbly ask for a donation for us to continue our work and keep it available for the future.
Even if you choose not to donate, thank you for taking the time to read our story and please share to anyone or any pages that could help spread the word.
