The free Youth Art Gallery
Donation protected
Hey guys, it's T’onna here. I’m a local artist from Ann Arbor, Mi. I specialize in custom paintings, murals and community service. I’m reaching out to my community leaders, members, parents, and local artists who would like to support a “Free youth art gallery”. “The free youth art gallery” will not only support children and teens in the community. We will support local artists by providing a free space to curate and exhibit art. In exchange for utilizing the space, the artist will have to teach the youth artistic skills as well as how to curate and exhibit their shows. Many artists like myself feel as if they have to move away to be successful. I want to bring opportunities and be a positive representation to my peers and younger people in my community. I want to show them you can be a success in your hometown. My motto is “ We do not just paint for fun, we paint with a purpose.” With that being said I believe in myself, the children, the artist and my community. I want to propose that you help me bring “ The free youth art gallery” to life! We are in the final stages of completion. All we need is a space. We will take donations and have art auctions every week until we reach our goal of 50,000.
TLC ArT includes multiple workspaces that are equipped with art supplies and Ipad pros. These stations will introduce students to the world of creativity through painting, drawing, sculpting and 2D/3D designs and more.
The TLC curatorial Team (teen students) runs all aspects of exhibitions and the curatorial process, including themes, artwork selection, handling, installation etc. TLC's curatorial team works together with professional artists and interns in a series of after-school sessions, weekend workshops and a variety of gallery and community events.
We will begin our journey by hosting teen get-togethers to show our support and care for their interest such as dances featuring interactive art and music to build a strong rapport. We are going to provide a safe and inclusive space for creativity to thrive organically.
Youth are educated in project management and develop public speaking skills through gallery presentations and artist talks.
Our top faculty and amazing artists will provide support to encourage the youth to explore and develop works using new techniques and mediums.
Students will learn how to create a professional portfolio that they can use after graduation.
We train youth as leaders to rally and invigorate the community utilizing the arts.
We offer exhibit, curatorial, and art & design classes for teens Grade 9-12. Sessions run year-round.
