Hello friend, my name is Geronimo and this is my Story.

I´ve been a Van Traveller for the last two years, travelled to 14 different countries and I want to support and teach homeless individuals how to refurbish and fix affordable Mini-Vans to create a mobile living space and transportation for Work. How to be Independent again and resourceful and thrifty.

If you believe in this cause, please be assured, that your donation will be an important contribution for building hopes, dreams and lives."

----------

"After being on the road, talking to several homeless, I´ve understood how close we are living to a society that is just trying to make it through the night!
The background story was always different, but only very few solutions to make it back into a "normal" life.
"do you have a dollar", "waiting for my food-stamps", "i´m waiting for my pension to come in", "it´s hard to find a job, living like this"...

I had fruits, cans of beans, rice and potatoes, and gallons of water in my Mini-Van. I had a kitchen and a bed. I felt safe and had my home with me. This Van took me to work and gave me a place to sleep and honestly I WAS LIVING THE BEST LIFE. THE USA IS GREAT FOR VAN LIFE. JUST CHECK OUT APPS LIKE IOVERLANDER AND YOU´LL BE AMAZED OF THE FREE UNRESTRICTED PARKING AREAS IN NATURE.

MY PHILOSOPHY:

I´m a global citizen, just like you. Never had the chance to choose where I´m from, the size of my feet, tone of my skin, not even my gender. Sounds familiar to you? Of course, because WE ARE ALL THE SAME! ...??

MAYBE NOT!

WHO AM I?

I´m 6 foot 8 or 2 meters tall, mostly german and american, well and "polishgerman"-"jewishamerican"-"afroamerican"-"nativeamerican cherokee and seminole"- two citizenships.... WHAT?
OK. Let´s go back to: "Global citizen"

Its 2024 and Life is ... advanced. The world has or had many wars, religions, political wins and losses, scientific milestones and "not to mention" world disrupting disasters...that have lead to an increase of homelessness.

WHATS THE COMMON DENOMINATOR?

I was born in Germany, which CAN be very safe and harmonious. For the last two years I´ve been travelling through the USA, which CAN be abundant and Free.
After interacting with people all over the World, from Countries that I was able to visit, unaware or uncaring about danger, by car or bicycle, sleeping on the road, parking lots, tent sites or the open wild, I know: "you can find good people everywhere"!

AGAIN: WHO AM I

I can say that I am privileged, experiencing places like egypt, cycled in spain, lived with nomads in portugal, france, croatia, road-triped in thailand & italy, turkey, germany the country i grew up, and i´ve crossed the US twice with a Mini-Van for two years...

It was not always easy, but that is only my perspective. Being in this position also means: IT WAS NOT ALWAYS HARD.

I can not speak for:
- people who where born with chronic life threatening disorders, or raised living in the street.
- someone who was a young single parent, or had been a victim of a violent or drug influenced surrounding.
-I can not speak for someone who was raised in a War-Zone.

I CAN SAY:
-I never had to care to much about politics, because we never had enough money to care, but still enough to not care.
By that I mean, we never had a car, had to do small monthly payments to afford anything bigger. Our dad slept on the couch, so we kids had our own rooms. We had to eat what was cooked and the leftovers the day after. Didn´t fly on vacation, but we did great bike tours to other cities. It was resourceful, humbled and independent. I loved my childhood!

-I wasn´t great in school, but had a safe and easy childhood, even though I was torn apart during my parents divorce, I had a caring single dad, and still a loving mom, a school system that supported me, great friends, plus I was a older brother, hoping to be looked up to someday.
So I am lucky, that the german school system offered so many free and accessible ways to grow and educate yourself. Like this I never had a big issue finding jobs, nor new opportunities, probably because you have to visit a paid 2-3 vocational job training after your final exams, while others proceed school to join a university, which is also free.

I worked many different Jobs, from sales to marketing, bartending to waiting tables, promotion and even as a mason for over 3 years, sometimes several in the same period, to save up money for the next adventure, investment, or life changing event. Never was I rich or financially independent. Even though I´ve earned not bad and never spent a lot on clothing, cars or furniture, money was always spent to live life, enjoy community, travel and support friends and family. Some people call it Work - Life Balance, but I was just trained to function in the society I was raised in, but didn´t know the value of the money. I had financing classes, paid attention in philosophy, caught up some things in history and geography and my sales classes. I am Average in the Society I was planted in.

WHERE DO I SEE THE DIFFERENCE?:

From denominator to,
NUMERATORS "for Children"?:

-Parents
-Food on the table
-Friends
-Playtime

NUMERATORS "for Adults"?

-Money (Job, House, Luxury)
-Health - leads back to Money
-Personal Dreams - leads back to Money
-Politics - Effects Emotions - leads back to Money

MY PERSONAL FOUNDATION:

"For me, it was about finding a balance between these two worlds, and it felt natural, and yet it was the right influence that had to take place."

REASON NO. 1 - motivation from outside
-> My dad always encouraged me: "Don´t ever give up" We never needed a lot and its not about being rich, its about the progress (hope), about believing in ourselves and helping another.

REASON NO 2. - motivation from within
-> I had a Plan: Oscar Wild said "Discontent is the first step in the progress of a man or a nation"
(I´ve grew up with the german quote, which was rather: Dissatisfaction is the first step to success | which i personally prefer)

For me it was a daily motivation for every situation, because nothing is flawless, so it keeps you in motion and hopeful for growth

->> I planned to live this chapter until I was 35, because who wants to be unsatisfied for ever?
My vision was: "Satisfaction, is the first step to happiness" for my life after that. Finding inner peace, Living resourceful, humbled and for my loved ones.

REASON NO. 3 - motivation from the future
-> I had a Goal: A friend of my dads said "I´d rather drive with a bicycle to the beach, than with a sports-car to work"

Essential for this was, that I learned to think about where I want to spend my life, not measured by how to get there, what to save up for it, or what other people would think about it. The Focus was on, what I believe is right for me and how I would like to feel someday.

"I am thankful for my circumstances and became weary over the years, for yet so much pain in the world. But may dad said "Talking about it won´t change it". So we have to hope again, that things gonna be alright, if we all put our hands together"

THE ART OF FORGIVENESS:

You can also find bad people everywhere. Everyone makes mistakes, but the world will keep on turning. Which is sad and wonderful at the same time.
Finding forgiveness for the past, for others and yourself, often takes the biggest courage, especially when hopes where high.

In Karl Popper´s book "The Open Society and Its Enemies," Popper argues that unlimited tolerance can lead to the destruction of tolerant society itself. He suggests that if a society is tolerant without limit, its ability to tolerate those who are intolerant will eventually be exploited by those who seek to undermine tolerance and establish intolerant regimes. Thus, Popper suggests that in order to maintain a tolerant society, it must be prepared to limit tolerance when it is threatened by intolerant ideologies or individuals. It's a thought-provoking concept that raises questions about the boundaries of tolerance in a democratic society.

"I personally see here the importance of balance but foremost EMPATHY for both sides."

PLEASE HOLD ON:

In ChatGPT the AI offered me this result, for the changes we would need to make:

Promoting a more tolerant and inclusive society involves various strategies and changes across different levels, including:

1. **Education**: Implementing comprehensive educational programs that emphasize critical thinking, empathy, and cultural understanding can help combat intolerance and prejudice from an early age.

2. **Legislation and Policy**: Strengthening laws and policies that protect the rights of marginalized groups, while also enacting measures to prevent discrimination and hate crimes, is crucial.

3. **Promoting Dialogue**: Encouraging open and respectful dialogue between diverse groups fosters understanding and helps break down stereotypes and misconceptions.

4. **Media Representation**: Promoting diverse and accurate representation in media and popular culture helps challenge stereotypes and promotes empathy and understanding.

5. **Community Engagement**: Supporting grassroots initiatives and community organizations that work towards inclusion and social justice can have a significant impact on local levels.

6. **Leadership and Advocacy**: Encouraging political leaders, influencers, and organizations to champion tolerance and inclusivity can help drive broader societal change.

7. **International Collaboration**: Collaborating with other nations and international organizations to address global issues related to intolerance, discrimination, and human rights violations is essential for creating a more tolerant world.

Ultimately, fostering a more tolerant society requires a multifaceted approach that addresses structural inequalities, promotes empathy and understanding, and actively confronts intolerance at all levels of society.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

MY GOAL:

"I want to promote tolerance, education and hope, because we are only as strong as the weakest link in the chain."

A tolerant society, is the foundation for a peaceful global economy, for harmonious interpersonal relationships, striving businesses, a fair financial system, and the spark for everybody´s hope in a better tomorrow.
Everybody is writing history today, participating in our future.

"So is stand for Healthy Habits, helping Homeless and Modesty."

WE ARE NOT ALL THE SAME, BUT THATS WONDERFUL!
WE ARE INDIVIDUALS, BUILDING A GLOBAL OASIS!

ANDER HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Term "Homeless" for me:
There are Nomadic in Siberia, some Semi-Nomadic, who have learned to maintain a healthy community, why can´t we?
I named it the Free - Bird Fund, because after living in a van, washing myself in rivers, doing outdoor workouts and hikes, cooking and sleeping under the stars, i felt closer to nature than ever and like many other "homeless" i didn´t have a lot of liabilities or responsibilities. 400-550 dollar for insurance, food, phone and gas/ a month and nature felt like home.
"I felt happy and capable of contributing more to society, more happiness, calmness and positivity.
Like a Free - Bird that has to reintegrate into life.
I understand if some are not willing to spend hundreds of dollars for cars and a home, while spending hours at work, that hardly pays for it all.
But I feel for those who tried, got set back and tried again. For those who live with fear of failing again, for those who don´t have family or a purpose to fall back on.
"The bare minimum of Life should be FREE"
