The Front Door Project Adelaide
It feels like our world has been turned up-side-down, doesn’t it?
And as we try and make any sense of it here in Adelaide, all I know is that I am very grateful to have my family home, safe and sound...and extended family & friends just a Skype call away during this isolation and self distancing period.
As a photographer and portrait artist, I spend hours every week creating carefully planned, visually stunning and emotion-filled artworks that just happen to be of your family. But at the moment, the self distancing rules don't allow me to do that.
I also know many families are also doing it tough...
Within a week, thousands of businesses closed and many people were laid off, left wondering how they were going to feed their family and keep a roof over their head.
Now more than ever we need communities like ours to stick together.
Starting today, I am taking five minute "Front Door Portraits" of Adelaide families.
In exchange, I am asking you to make a good faith donation to Foodbank SA where a $50 donation will mean 100 meals for those in need! That's either 2 small food relief hampers or 1 large one, that will be delivered to a family or individual of Adelaide so they don't go without.
I will be posting these images on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #TheFrontDoorProjectAdelaide (derived from Cara Soulia's #TheFrontStepsProject in USA)
The purpose of this project is to bring us together when we might feel isolated and by participating in this project it also gives us an opportunity to step up to help those who need it most right now in Adelaide.
WHAT TO DO...
STEP 1: Make a donation
STEP 2: Submit your contact details here: (Not taking any more submissions)
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT...
STEP 3: I will contact you within 48 hours with your allocated date and time of session
(If you don't hear from me within 48 hours, please call me on 0408 885 571)
I will be taking images outside ONLY and from at least 4 meters away.
Our session will be brief - just 5 minutes.
This is not a typical get-dressed-up-and-pose-for-the-photographer session. If you want to stand outside in your pyjamas and slippers or have the kids in mismatched clothes...Fantastic! I want you to BE YOU! and let's shine some goodwill and happiness through these tough times.
In exchange for a complimentary digital file of your family portrait, I ask you to make a good faith donation to Foodbank SA . Suggested donation is $50 but any amount is appreciated.
Foodbank is the pantry to Australia’s charity sector, providing food and grocery items to many charitable organisations who run food relief programs. These programs assist many South Australians each and every month.
My name is Tania Gaylor and I am a photographic portrait artist in Adelaide, South Australia. For the next few weeks I am offering to create 'Front Door Portraits' for families in Adelaide.
