The Furtado Family

My name is Anna Qualls and I am fundraising on behalf of my dear friend Allison (Silveria) Furtado and her beautiful young children, Sawyer (age 9), and Everett (age 6) Furtado. On the night of Thursday, November 30th, they tragically lost their beloved husband and father, Gregory Randall Furtado (age 41).
Gregory (Greg) was a graduate of Plymouth North High School (class of 2000) and St. Anselm College (class of 2004). Following his graduation, he was a graduate of the 2005 MPTC Academy and began serving for the Nantucket Police Department. In 2006, he graduated from the Massachusetts State Police Academy as part of the 79th Recruit Training Troop, was assigned to D Troop as a Trooper, and later served on the Community Action Team. Greg then joined the State Police Detective Unit, SPDU, for the Cape and Islands. He was promoted to Sergeant in July of 2022 and returned to D Troop to work as a Patrol Supervisor. In May of 2023, he was transferred back to the State Police Detective Unit, SPDU, for the Cape and Islands, as a Sergeant. He was a dedicated public servant who unflinchingly gave his time and effort to keeping the community safe.
Greg was truly one of the most loyal, genuine, and kind men I have had the honor of knowing, and I know that this sentiment is felt by all who knew him. He adored his family and was actively involved in his children’s lives. He regularly coached and cheered along his children at sporting events and in all endeavors of their growing lives. He loved and unwaveringly supported his wife, who dedicates her time and profession in the Plymouth Public Schools community as a counselor to middle school students. The devastating and sudden loss of his life will continue to be felt immensely by his family and friends.
In honor of his life and the lives that he has left behind, myself, members of the Plymouth community and members of the Massachusetts State Police want to support Greg’s young family in whatever way we can. The funds from this fundraiser will be given to the Furtado Family and used to help them navigate their future in ways that cannot be fully comprehended at this time.
On behalf of the Furtado family and Brother and Sister Troopers, I thank you for supporting a man who supported so many throughout his life.
Respectfully,
