The Future Generation Girls
Donation protected
This past July, I started an outreach program called "The Future Generation Girls", dedicated to empowering young women between 9 and 18 years old in St. Louis. Why did I start this organization? I want to make a change in the community, especially for low-income families. Many parents are busy working while their children are at home watching t.v or without much to do and are missing out on important life experiences. I am a certified Community Health Worker with an Associates Degree in Human Services and in the process of completing my bachelors degree in Social Work. During this time, I have realized how many opportunities are available for young girls from low-income families in St. Louis but the connection to these opportunities is lacking. I want to be that connection.
In this program, I work with teenagers in St. Louis by showing them the many opportunities around them. For example, for a girl who is struggling to pay for school, I contact organizations and research scholarships for her. I help provide education and products for personal hygiene. For girls that are struggling with mental health, I direct them to a counselor. Most importantly, my goal is to be able to share my knowledge from my degree with my community and help better St. Louis.
These girls have so many needs and I cannot personally do it alone. The money raised from this Go Fund Me will go towards snacks for meetings, transportation for outings, field trips to places like the Magic House, Six Flags, and other enriching activities.
Any contribution would be so greatly appreciated. Your donation will help these young women transition into strong, dedicated adults with a positive attitude and the tools needed for all of their future endeavors.
