The Galaxy Experience Sponsorship for Children

I am Patrice Covington, an artist, activist, and lover of my community! I was born and raised in Chesapeake, Virginia. I am a proud Governor's School for the Arts and Western Branch High School alumni. A member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

 

I am excited to present the first "The Galaxy Experience” Musical Theater Camp. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share my personal industry experiences to encourage and push children towards their dreams or expose them to something new, and have a good time while we are at it!

 

I have over 25+ years of experience in the professional entertainment business on Broadway, television and film. I have traveled the world for ten years, giving master classes to high schoolers and colleges. This time I have carefully crafted this experience specifically for children. I will be teaching objectives such as stage directions, auditions and casting, using real-life emotions to express through song, acting and dancing, accepting and giving direction and constructive criticism and much more. I will teach this in fun, unique ways catered to children, such as games and art.

 

When I was a kid, the influence of artists from my hometown and its stars was a major factor in my development as a creative. It's my goal to deliver the same positivity to youth in an even more hands on fashion.

 

With so much negativity in the news, its my goal to spread joy and healing through the arts for our youth of Hampton Roads. They need this. We need this. What we invest in them now will come back ten fold as the masses expereince their talent and empathy in years to come.

 

100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will aid a child in attending the camp for free! Who knows who and what will become from our knowledge and influence?! I'm excited to find out! The children and I appreciate your generosity in supporting The GalaxyExperience. I can't wait to teach these beautiful souls how to not only be star but be a GALAXY!
