Exciting Update!

Help Us Empower Communities: The 1Love Projects in the UK and Gambia

Since 2020, The 1Love Projects have been on a mission, working tirelessly to lend a hand to those feeling a bit left out—both in the UK and Gambia. Born from the chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic, our goal is simple: do whatever it takes to lift up those grappling with overwhelming challenges. In Gambia, we’re battling the effects of climate change, economic struggles, and the rising despair among young people whose education often leaves them high and dry on practical skills and job prospects.

Our Story So Far

Our first big win? Bringing clean water to a village in need! We rolled up our sleeves, fixed the water borehole, and crafted a fabulous six-tap sink, complete with kid-friendly steps for easy access. This was financed by the powers of internet, Corbett Santana from Germany, kindly financed the project. Forever thankful for his huge gesture.

The village now enjoys the sweet taste of clean drinking water 24/7 for over 500 people! This wasn’t just about plumbing; it was a celebration of unity, hope, and resilience. The community pitched in, and we all cheered for the miracle of clean water. And thus, the 1Love Volunteers were born, fueled by the joy and spirit of togetherness!

Our Next Goal: Educate, Train, and Empower

Now, we need your magic touch to take our next giant leap! Our vision? A vibrant centre for education, training, and development for young adults in Gambia. The stakes are high—too many youth are taking the dangerous “back way” out of Africa, risking it all for opportunities that should be right at their doorstep. We’re here to show them there’s a brighter path—to equip them with skills, confidence, and hope right at home!

What We Need and How You Can Help

We’re on the lookout for funding to create a meaningful impact in several ways:

• Build a Training and Medical Room: A hub for education and training, plus basic health checks like blood pressure and mother and baby weight monitoring!

• Equip Young Adults: We need computers, laptops, and writing supplies to launch skills training and development galore!

• Enterprise and Business Support: Let’s create opportunities for women and young adults, sponsor college dreams, and kickstart small businesses!

• Internet Access: Year-round access to info, education, and opportunities? Yes, please!

• Food Relief: Help us provide bags of rice to families facing tough times!

A Recent Success

With community spirit, we also helped a young entrepreneur bring joy to the youth. We invested in an initiative by Ceasefyah Promotions, which organised a summer pool party for kids and young adults. It was an incredible success, bringing smiles and memories to so many, and it is an initiative we hope will flourish in the years to come.
