The Garden Bug

Hi, my name is Tina and we're trying to open a garden center on the North-End of Detroit at the corner of Davison and Petoskey! Our plan is to beautify our Detroit neighborhood and provide Detroiters with vegetables, flowers, and other gardening needs. We purchased the property for $7,500 through Land Bank last year, and the home has been vacant for 51 years. The home has been completely stripped and vandalized, and it needs extensive rehab. We were able to use some of our funds to fix up the outside and get the roof done, but the home still needs heating and cooling, electrical, flooring, drywall, and plumbing. I think our garden center would be a huge asset to the Russell Woods Neighborhood on Detroit's North-End. We really appreciate any donations you could make to complete the project!!
