Hi, we are The Garners of Channel 4, Sun, Sea and Selling Houses and as proud Patrons of AA Dog Rescue Spain & UK. Charity Nº 18-1-11243 / Registered none profit UK 15007455.

We are trying to raise funds to avoid this charity having to close!

This cause is so important to our family as we ourselves have many rescued animals and know the time, effort and money it takes to look after them.

HOWEVER being asked to be patrons of this amazing charity has opened our eyes to a world we never knew about. Charley Nathan (Founder) and Sharon Bays and team that not only rescue Dogs here in Spain but also in the UK, their workload and trying to raise funds to save these animals is relentless and they have now got to the point - Well I am going to let you read what Charley wrote this morning 12th June 2024 which broke our hearts - SO PLEASE READ

This is Charleys words of desperation!

AA Dog Rescue Spain

For those of you out there who are animal lovers, I would like to tell you a little bit about our registered charity (see our Association registration below).

This is one of the hardest posts to write because it makes me feel a complete failure

But in a nutshell we are struggling big time. Adoptions are at an all time low and I have no money left to prop up the charity. UK is on its knees and Spain do not support charities.

So many of you help us and without the help we would have finished long ago so, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support which has enabled so many more Dogs to be saved.

If any of you can come up with any fund raising ideas I would welcome it, because I simply don’t know what else to do :(

Sharon and I are working 18 hr days trying everything but to no avail.

We closed the doors three months ago to any new rescues coming in which was the hardest thing I have ever had to do ( I can only take puppies abandoned in the campo that would of died) Dogs are in the kill shelter about to die that we have had to say no to. We are devastated!

We have enough funds until the end of the month then I have to make the harsh decision of which dogs we will have to put to sleep :( because that is better for them than not eating and that is how dire it is.

So please can you help us?

Once again thank you to everyone who does support us the dogs we have saved are so much better off because of it, and because of your monthly donations we have been able to care and feed for those and for those still in our care up to now xx

I (Charley) sold my farm to be able to keep the rescue going and to buy the new van as well to be able to transport dogs to the UK and visa versa to be rescued, but sadly I’ve run out of money to keep doing what we do to save these Dogs.

We have homed over 11,000 dogs in the UK over the 11 years we have been running. We are registered at Companies House in the UK as a non-profit organisation. All homes are homechecked and we offer all our dogs back-up for life. We transport them to the UK ourselves in our fully Defra and EU approved van.

The Garners would like to do all we can to help this wonderful charity to survive and help these puppies and dogs to live their best lives and not be put in kill shelters, which they do here in Spain. Charley I know has very little sleep worrying about how to fund the dogs and get them out and re home them.

I know life is hard for everyone at the moment BUT CAN YOU HELP? The Garners raise as many funds as possible.

For anyone who watches Channel 4, Sun, Sea and Selling Houses you will know how important animals are to Sharon (Momma G) she has 2 rescued Mastins, goats, birds etc, but Sharon can sleep at night knowing they are well fed and have a home they are loved in.
