The Gary Floyd Memorial Fund

Hello friends of Gary Floyd!

As you know, Gary has left this plane, and now resides in some other form of existence. We all love him so much, and are so very lucky to have experienced his energies, whether it be in person or in song recordings and videos!

Here on our planet Earth he leaves behind us, his friends and family/chosen family, and perhaps most importantly the person who has most consistently and patiently been standing by his side, been his ear, his confidant, his shelter, his stable rock, his person to laugh and cry with, his loving man. It is Gary’s long term partner and surviving caregiver of 25 years, Thom Longino.

Although they were often seen as husbands to each other, Gary and Thom were never officially legally married. Primarily due to Gary’s status as a disability recipient, and the financial mess that marriage would create for their partnership.

I have set up this GoFundMe to try to help Thom offset any financial hardships he will be facing due to Gary’s passage. There are big beautiful memorial gatherings to create and attend in San Francisco, Austin, and elsewhere. There are cremation bills, household bills, travel bills, time off from work to process grief bills, Gary’s artwork that needs to be saved, shipped to art shows, and protected bills, on and on and on. All kinds of unforeseen expenses.

So many expenses that we can gladly help Thom with.

Gary had a very true and loving partner in Thom, enabling him to be free to pursue his art out in the world, all while having emotional stability in their nest at home.

We ask that, in Gary’s memory, in lieu of flowers or other things, that you contribute to this fund. So that we can help to ease the financial burdens that Thom is incurring after Gary’s passing.

Thom has recently (humorously) referred to himself as “The Widow Floyd”, and it’s true. No one else can ever claim that title. And together, we can help him!

All proceeds from this GoFundMe campaign will benefit Thom Longino, and his processing of the Gary Floyd Estate.
