The gift of life: From one family to another
Donation protected
This is a story of being a father, a brother and a friend. Both Timothy and Jeffrey grew up in Paradise, California until the 2018 Camp Fire.
Tim Wyatt, a father of two lost his little brother Noah last December from an undiagnosed medical condition. Noah was 26, a father of two and an organ donor.
Just weeks after the death of his own brother, Tim Wyatt saw a social media post made by a desperate father. "Please help my son, he is in need of an immediate kidney transplant." This post was made by Jeff Bubeck of Yuba City for his son Jeffery, also a father of two and one of Tim's old classmates. Jeffery has stage 5 renal failure and must be on dialysis multiple days per week. Timothy immediately went into action to see if he qualified to donate his kidney to Jeffery. "I don't want to see another family lose their father, and I want to make my brother proud."

After almost a year of testing, a trip from Oklahoma to California, and meeting and sustaining multiple health goals, both Tim and Jeffrey have the green light for the kidney donation to go forward in January.
This kidney donation will change the lives of Jeffery's wife and two daughters and will give them back their father and a chance at a long healthy life together.
The funds raised here will be used to help cover Tim and his wife's flights from Oklahoma to California and both of their lost wages. Tim has received a grant from the living donor assistance but it doesn't cover everything, specifically spousal lost wages and support.
Any additional funds raised will be donated directly to Jeffery and his family who, as you can imagine, also have medical, travel, and lost wages expenses. The Bubeck family has persevered through three years of challenges related to Jeffrey's renal failure. We are so happy that Tim can donate his kidney but there is more work to do for Jeffery and his family. Jeffery will be off work for a minimum of four months while he recovers. The best support we can give Jeffrey at this point is financial support. Thank you.
