The gift of safety and sleep

Hi, my name is Catherine. My son Avery is diagnosed with Autism, level 3, severe. He is currently nonverbal. Keeping Avery safe, happy and healthy is our main priority. Some of the most common activities for neurotypical children are extremely challenging for those who have a disability…like sleeping. The Cubby Bed is a bed designed for autistic children to ensure a safe, comfortable, and soothing environment for sensory regulation. The cubby bed provides video recording, soothing lights to help with overstimulation, padded canopy, safety sheets to prevent entrapment, safety netting to prevent elopement in the middle of the night, built in sound detection, temperature regulation, motion detection, and smoke/carbon dioxide alerts. Avery has a multitude of the risk factors requiring the use of this bed and requires constant supervision. Avery’s physician filled out all of the paperwork needed for the cubby bed; however it is not covered by insurance. The out of pocket cost is $7,950 after a discount. Our family is asking for help to fund the purchase of The Cubby Bed for our son. We are grateful for any and all generosity towards providing a safe sleep environment. The Cubby Bed can gift Avery an outlet when feeling overwhelmed and overstimulated. With this sleep device designed for children like Avery, he is one step closer to learning healthy behaviors. This bed will gift us, his parents, a full nights sleep free of the worry of entrapment/elopement/injury. Avery can attend all of his therapy sessions rejuvenated and ready to take on the world!!
