The Girlies vs. Janet

Donation protected
Hey friends!
We’re here with a quick lawsuit update! I know we haven’t talked too much about it recently, but as it turns out, the legal system is not particularly quick! Who knew?! Anyway, while on one hand, this entire s(h)ituation continues to be a hilarious moment in internet history, on the other, we would be lying if we said we weren’t SO ready for it to be over with.
In addition to dealing with this mess, we’ve also all been busy working on our own respective projects. I (Bekah) personally have been working on easily the biggest project I have ever worked on related to dentist we love to hate, Dr. Kenny, on top of being a mom to two toddlers which takes up the majority of my time.
The girlies, Jessi and Lily, are both constantly working on their podcast to make sure they get 2 episodes a week out for all of you girlies. And on top of that, Jessi is also a full time mom to two toddlers and Lily, in addition to staying up for days on end to do unhinged deep dives for their podcast, is also a dog mom and takes on a variety of other side editing projects as well.
Since the “wellness checks”, Kitti has begun embracing a more nomadic lifestyle, making her basically impossible to track. And while that is exciting for many reasons, the number one perk isssss…. no more concerns of police trying to interfere with her organ harvesting business!! That said, please note that her choice to move pre-dated this entire mess. It would have taken far more than a TikTok Mortician and an IP lawyer to scare a villain life coach out of her lair. Anyway, we’re just hoping this doesn’t make it to trial so we don’t need to recruit a bounty hunter to track her down.
P.S. For legal purposes, Kitti is obviously not running an organ harvesting business, nor does she partake in problematic organ consumption, which has been falsely misrepresented by more than one very large influencer who, in our opinion, seemingly couldn’t be bothered to do a simple Google search to get context. (Or they did but purposefully ignored said context to mislead viewers.)

All of that said, let's get to why we’re here: the lawsuit. While we were hoping that this would have all wrapped up by now, unfortunately that is not the case.
Unfortunately, the way the legal process works is that when a plaintiff or plaintiffs, aka Janet and Lauren, file a complaint, the defendant or defendants, aka The Girlies, must then respond to that complaint. But after that response is submitted, the plaintiffs are given one more opportunity to amend their complaint before the judge makes any ruling on how to proceed.
In this amendment, the plantiff can do anything from adding in additional or new allegations, correcting any errors they may have made in their original filing (such as, possibly misspelling their own client’s name on point 24), or make some changes in attempt to strengthen their complaints based on what they see in the defendant’s response.
And because the plaintiffs in this situation are Janet and Lauren the Mortician - it is a surprise to no one that they have of course chosen to amend their complaint. As a result, the initial response that our lawyer put together is largely null and void, and must now be rewritten to accommodate for this new amended complaint. And as I’m sure you’re all aware, that takes time and unfortunately lawyers are very much not free. So as this continues to get unnecessarily (in our opinion) drawn out - our legal fund only continues to be drained.
Thankfully the changes that Lauren and Janet made to their complaint don’t put us completely back at square one, there are still a lot of changes that need to be made before we can submit our new response. If you’re curious and want to read all of the filings so far, they will be linked below but warning: it’s long. SO, if you don’t feel like reading through dozens of pages of court documents, we’ll link some of the coverage by a few of the legal-world Youtubers who have been covering this suit.
If you have had the chance to read any of our initial responses, we think you’ll agree that our attorney has done a fantastic job so far and are confident that he will only continue to do so. I mean, did you see those beautiful citations and proper legal legwork? Because we sure did.
Now….all of that to say, we are now 4 months into fighting this frivolous lawsuit, and have already been forced to spend $30,000 in legal fees, all of which has come from the legal fund that you all have generously contributed to, something we are eternally grateful for.
As for our next steps, after our lawyer finishes crafting our second response to the amended complaint, he will be attending a hearing on April 17th where he’ll find out the judge has ruled in favor of our motions. If we do indeed win those motions, the case will be over, but unfortunately there’s also the chance that we could win some of our motions but not all, which will then move us into what is called the ‘discovery’ phase of this suit. This is the point where both parties are able to introduce all of the receipts, proof, timelines, screenshots, EVERYTHING that they have to support their argument. (that also includes witness testimonies, depositions, and any other relevant evidence)
However these next steps pan out, we stand firm in our integrity. We all know that this entire situation didn’t come out of nowhere. It began because a man in the LGBTQ community who is a CPST was, in our opinion, grossly misrepresented across multiple social media platforms because he expressed his professional opinion that challenged Lauren the Mortician. From our end, anything that followed were simply us reacting to those actions as well as other publicly available information that had come to light surrounding already trending topics. Even now, despite being sued over it, we do not regret using our platforms to call out what we consider reprehensible behavior from both of the plaintiffs and still maintain our position that it was the right thing to do.
All of that said, because of how the plaintiffs have continued to draw this out, these next steps are forcing us to unfortunately ask you guys for your help once again. In order to accommodate for the additional legal fees that will help us finally put this whole thing to rest, we are relaunching our GoFundMe. When we set our initial goal, we knew it was on the conservative side but we had also hoped that everything would be resolved by now. Trust us, asking you guys for help when you’ve already done so much is the last thing we want to do. And while we appreciate ANY donations you may be able to provide, we want to stress that you should in no way feel any pressure to donate, especially if you’ve already donated, as we all know how tight money is right now.
I know you guys are probably over this situation just as much as we are, but we’re confident that we are nearing the finish line and that this last push will get us there. So if you are able to donate, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. We don’t know what we would have done without all of your support during this and a day doesn’t go by that we don’t think about how grateful we are and what we would have done if it wasn’t for your guys’ generosity.
If you made it this far, thank you for listening, and we will be back with another update on the 17th!
All of love and appreciation,
The Girlies aka Bekah, Kitti, Jessi, Lily <3

If you are interested in helping contribute to our legal fees, we cannot even explain how much that means to us.

  • PLEASE DO NOT feel obligated to donate.
  • PLEASE DO NOT donate if you don't have the ability.
  • PLEASE DO NOT put yourself in a tight position to contribute to this fund.

We completely understand that this is one of the most expensive times of the year, and are so completely understanding that were are all on budgets.

All donations will be placed into a Trust thought the law firm that we are working with, that our lawyer will have access to. 100% of all donations will go toward our legal fees.

If you can donate, thank you SO much. We want to fight this to ensure the protection of not only our own commentary channels, but for other commentary creators on social media. It's time to bring awareness to the loopholes in the moderation system that allow copyright abuse that infringes on our right to free speech.

We will be posting as frequent updates to the GoFundMe page as possible, with information our lawyers approve of. We also assure you that the memes and content we want to make due to how ridiculous we find this to be will be worth the wait!

If you've made it this far, thank you for reading.
Cheers to 2024, a year in which we will FIGHT!

When litigation ends, we will be able to speak more freely about the ins and outs of this process. Thank you for supporting us, and having our backs, friends. We all adore each of you.

All our love,
Bekah, Jessi, Lily, & Kitti
