The Goodman Family Robin & Jim

Hi, my name is Leisa Nunnelee, and I am currently raising funds for Robin and Jim Goodman due to a recent debilitating illness Robin is suffering. All monies collected will go directly to the Goodman’s to assist in medical bills, Jim’s loss of wages from work (all vacation times have been used) and any other bills needed during this time.

On Wednesday, 10/18/23, Robin was taken to Baylor Scott & White with severe abdominal pain and an inability to speak in a coherent sentence. She was immediately admitted to Intensive Care due to her medical history as well as having undergone spine surgery three weeks prior. The first 24 hours were filled with test and finally resulted in an emergency exploratory surgery lasting five hours. She was in Septic shock! The surgery revealed that her abdomen was consumed with an infection and the recovery would be long and difficult. Robin was then placed on a ventilator where she stayed for a week. The doctors finally extubated her this past Wednesday and she appeared to be maintaining. Sunday evening she was transferred to a step-down unit and both Jim and Colby were returning to work today. Sadly by 8 am this morning, 10/30/23, Robin had taken a major turn for the worse and was immediately readmitted to ICU. She was placed back on the ventilator and complete CT scans were obtained. Jim and Colby both left work to be with her. The prognosis at this point is not the best although those who know her, know she is a fighter. She is fighting pneumonia and major fluid in her lungs. The trauma doctors have said this will be an uphill battle. She is nearly maxed out on the vent settings. All we can do now is wait and see if she responds and PRAY.

As a result of this Jim is now on days without pay and needs to be with Robin just as Colby their only child does.
