The Gorney Ranch

Hi everyone,

Friday night our family’s ranch was hit by a tornado. What is left of the house will be demolished and hundreds of acres of woods are destroyed. There are no words to describe how heartbroken we all are. My parents put years of hard work into this property and to watch their dream get taken away in an instant is truly devastating. As tragic as this is, we are truly blessed they are still with us. God was watching over them Friday night and we can’t thank him enough for keeping them safe.

When my parents bought this place, it was just acres of open land and no one could see the vision but them. Weekend by weekend they dedicated their time and money to building a place we could all come together and make memories. In a world filled with so much chaos, it was such a gift to go out there to relax and spend time together. Watching my dad get to live out his dream of having his own property to hunt and fish was such a joy for all of us. Even though my mom cried after every deer he shot, there was never a moment she was not by his side in that deer blind. My parents built this place together from the ground up and it was the most beautiful thing to watch them do it together as best friends. The love and teamwork these two have for each other is truly inspiring.

If you have met Ron and Deb, you know they are two of the most hardworking, selfless people you will ever meet. Growing up they gave us everything we could ever ask for and never put themselves first. Money will never replace the items that were lost; however, if there is any way we can help them we would be forever grateful. Thank you to the people who have already reached out to help and who have been praying for us. We can’t thank you enough and we hope to one day watch them get their dream back and carry on the Gorney Ranch legacy.
