The Granata Family Needs Our Support!

Central Valley Li'l Warriors is teaming up to help Joey Granata and his family as he experiencing additional medical complications after suffering a massive heart attack on January 2,2023. As of Friday May 5th, Joey was admitted to the hospital.

Joey and Meghan are proud parents for four very active children. They are involved in several organization within the community. This family always goes above and beyond for anyone in need. Now it is our turn! Meghan will be taking another leave of absence from work, which leaves their family with alot of unknowns. Please consider donating, at the least share to spread the word.

The latest update from his wife Meghan...

"Well, here it goes… an update that we were hoping we wouldn’t have to make for a long time but as we all know, life doesn’t usually go according to our plans…

Joey is in the hospital. He was admitted Friday night.

All indications are telling us that his heart is failing.

He had massive fluid build up and his liver and kidneys began shutting down due to that and lack of adequate blood flow and oxygen from his weakening heart.

Right now, they are focusing on getting the fluid off his body and stopping the damage/shut down of the liver and kidneys.

We are making some slow progress with that.

His heart failure specialist is going to do a repeat echocardiogram and right heart cath, hopefully Thursday or Friday, to check the function in both the left and right sides of Joeys heart. He will then have an internal defibrillator surgically placed to be our “insurance policy” that if Joeys heart would spontaneously stop (cardiac arrest), he would have the best chance possible to get medical intervention and survive.

His doctor didn’t want to speculate too much but advised us that he does expect to see that the left side is still functioning below 20% and that the right side is now failing too, resulting in the fluid build up and liver and kidneys shutting down. If that is, in fact, the case, we will move towards getting Joey listed for a heart transplant.

Lots of unknowns until we get those tests done… We are praying for better results than what the doctor is expecting but also being realistic that we may not get it and will soon be on the hunt for a new heart and a new lease on life.

You all came through so hugely for him, myself and our family back in January with your prayers and carried him through what most do not live to tell about so we ask you again to please put Joey in your prayers that the road ahead, while difficult and uncertain, will lead him and our family to better days filled with a healthy, happy heart "
