The Grande Theatre
The Grande Theatre needs your help .
Please donate anything you can to help
save the theater from becoming non
existent in the near future.
The Grande Theatre was built in 1886 by
the Babcock family and was originally
named TheBabcock Theatre. It was
designed as a
Vaudeville stage performance and opera
house. The original stage is still in existence
behind the down stairs screen .
Actor Gabby Hayes and many other well
known performers worked at the theatre
through the early 1900’s .
Mr. Jones has owned the theatre now for
over a decade and has made several
improvements but none as involved and in
depth as and to the degree of the Digital
Conversation and Restoration in the fall of
2012. That 45 day conversion process was
massive with an enormous cost.
You get a breath of the 1940’s when you
enter our carpeted art-deco lobby and
purchase your ticket from our original
1939
brass ticket machine at the box office .
Our nostalgic concession stand features
the best candy selection, as we proudly
serve
Pepsi refreshments. The Grande Theatre
uses Weaver’s Theatre Gold line, the finest
in popcorn ! Popped fresh for you daily
with 100% coconut oil, giving you that rich movie theatre popcorn smell and taste that you expect when coming to the movies.
Ticket prices and concession is fair and
competitive in pricing with the larger
chain theaters .
We will always be at max $10.00
general admission theater , with 2 o'clock
matinee Saturday and Sunday at just $8.00 a ticket .
We offer senior discount 62+ ,veteran,
college student discount and anybody

We offer Wednesday bargain night with
seats just $7.00 a ticket. ( Not Sony movies
due to regulation)
We would like to offer more to the
community and have great
plans for growth opportunities at
The GrandeTheatre here in Wellsville, Ny .
Whole heartedly though we do need your
help .
The Grande Theatre has been one of the
main buildings in the village of Wellsville
for over 134 years as you can
see from the highway, let alone from one
end of the town to the other. Please help us keep the lights ( marquee ) on for the
village/town.
As the technology increases and
downloading and streaming becomes more
accessible, the ticket sales annually just
isn’t enough to keep it going .
Wellsville has the only theater in Allegany
county. Having a theater in a small town
gives more quality to the village/ town . As I know we all can agree.
*All donations go straight into The Grande
Theatre for updates and improvements.
Thank you again for supporting your local
hometown theater and for taking your time
to read this.
Sincerely ,
The Grande Theater .
