The Green Music Program presents: Planting for the Future fundraiser. This fall on October 5th, several artists of the Green Music Program will perform from around the world via livestream to raise money for tree-planting initiatives. Trees are one of the essential tools we have to fight climate change by soaking up carbon dioxide. They provide us with shade to reduce our energy bills in the summer, help filter the air of harmful pollutants, mitigate flooding, and provide habitat for wildlife in a world increasingly dominated by concrete. The organizations this concert will benefit are Little Free Tree and Keep Durham Beautiful (descriptions below). Suggested donation is $10 and greater donations are welcomed.

Register for the event by completing your donation and sharing a picture or screenshot here: https://forms.gle/Hf3vLKNsqfgb3See7

Organizations we are fundraising for:

The world is going through a lot right now. Planting a Little Free Tree is one small way you can help tilt the balance in a positive direction. Trees are nature's miracle, reducing pollution, producing oxygen and providing a home to wildlife, all of which help our environment thrive. We're massively grateful to the Green Music Program for shining a light on our little project and we pledge to spend 100% of the funds raised to plant and gift more Little Free Trees. Thank you!

Since 2004, Keep Durham Beautiful has united with communities and volunteers, removing thousands of tons of litter, planting and distributing thousands of trees, caring for dozens of community gardens, and bringing people together to take care of Durham's Environment. In 2023, our volunteers planted 352 trees and distributed 277 native trees to residents in neighborhoods with low tree canopy. We partnered with 5,637 volunteers who dedicated 11,543 hours to clean and green the communities of Durham, North Carolina. Durham is a diverse and rapidly growing city in the Southeast of the US, serving as a center for business, culture, art and innovation. Native street tree plantings, thoughtfully planted with an environmental justice lens, provide much needed biodiversity, habitat, cooling shade, cleaning of air and water, and pollution reduction for this growing city. Your support, going 100% to tree planting costs, provides a quantifiable environmental benefit and brings immeasurable joy and beauty to our communities.
