The Gress Family’s IVF Journey

Donation protected
It’s been said that it takes a village to raise a child, and maybe that starts even before that baby is born.  Liz and Daren’s journey to be parents has been a long one, filled with joy and heartache.  It began 10 years ago when they decided they were ready to grow their family.  The next 8 years were spent patiently trying to figure out just why it wasn’t working, until they eventually entered into the world of IVF.  Their first round yielded 1 genetically perfect embryo and that embryo was implanted and took!  It wasn’t until their 20 week ultrasound that they learned that their baby, Mavis, had hypo plastic left heart syndrome and would be born with the left side of her heart undeveloped and unusable.  Mavis was born on January 10th and spent her 47 days here on earth being loved on by her parents and supported by a network of friends and family, both near and far.  Liz and Daren have navigated the heartbreak of losing Mavis with unimaginable strength and grace, openly sharing their story and allowing us into their lives.

Now this is where you come in, Village.  Liz and Daren have been cleared by their doctors to try for IVF again and I think we can all agree that these two are so deserving of this!  Money should not be the obstacle standing in their way of this opportunity.  Please feel free to share their story and remember that every little bit helps!  Let’s support Liz and Daren as they continue their journey!  Thanks so much!
