The Grout Family House Fire Fund
Donation protected
Many of you have heard about this house fire that occured last night in our wonderful Lake Monticello community, but for those that have not here is the story. Liz Murray and her three beautiful children were at home last night when their deck and back of the house caught on fire. Their five month old son and two year old daughter were asleep in their bedrooms when Liz and her eight year old daughter saw the flames while sitting in the living room. They were fortunate enough to be sitting where they were because the flames went up quickly. Liz managed to get the kids and dog out of the house and into their van while Madelyn, a 2nd grader, called 911 and grabbed the keys. The fire department was there within minutes and they were able to extinguish the fire but it did significant damage to the home as well as tremendous water damage. They are staying with family in Charlottesville for the time being until they can find a place to stay but in the meantime they are in need of items for every day use. As anyone knows who has been in this situation it can be quite overwhelming to be given an abundance of donations with no where to store. This sweet family gives so much to the community and they need our help. Liz is one of my very best friends and she has a heart of gold and gives so much to those in need. This campaign will help get them on their feet to get back what they lost but wait until they have a place to stay to store them. If you cannot make a monetary donation please email me and I can make arrangements for pick up of donations for things like clothing, diapers, food, shoes, school supplies, toys, etc.
