The Haga Family: Support in Medical Recovery

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Hannah and I am reaching out to you on behalf of Family Ministries.

Updated Information:
First and foremost we want to thank everyone who previously gave. However, we requesting your help for the Haga Family once more.

Dakota (Mama Haga) has given us permission to share some details about their situation as things have changed. After Parker's (baby girl) ICU stay at birth she was released to go home. Several weeks after returning home she was rushed back to the hospital with further breathing complications. At the time they believed she had COVID and perhaps other respiratory issues. They kept her overnight for observation and sent her home once stabilized. A few weeks later she was having further issues, this time she was rushed to Children's Health Care of Atlanta by ambulance from the hospital closest to them.

At CHOA it was discovered that she had what appeared to be a cyst on her breast bone and they would need to do surgery to remove it. Upon further blood work, it appeared that that cyst may be cancer. Her care team at the hospital are calling her a unicorn as this type of diagnosis is extremely rare for babies of any age, especially those as young as Parker. We are praying for the complete healing of baby Parker. The MRI, further testing, and subsequent surgery will mean a much longer stay in the hospital for Parker. This also means that her parents will need to be with her and out of work for the entire time. This is putting a financial strain on their family.

At Family Ministries, we believe that it is the job of the body at large to minister to those in need. This includes financial ministry. In Acts 20 Paul teaches us that Jesus himself instructed us to minister by giving to the sick. (Acts 20:35) This is why we are continuing this GoFundMe and increasing our goal to an additional $1500 to meet the needs of the Haga family at this time. We implore you to give generously to the Haga family and to pray without ceasing for the complete healing of baby Parker. (Mark 5:34, 1 Peter 2:24, Acts 4:30, Psalm 103:3) Together our faith can be stronger than the sickness that threatens Parker, and we can support and be strong for her Mom, Dad, and older sister. (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

(End of update)
Our church is so blessed to be growing with the addition of sweet babies born to our members. However, The Haga family's journey as a young family has taken an unexpected turn. Their precious second-born child has been admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) due to unforeseen complications. While the medical team is doing everything possible to ensure their baby's health and well-being, this journey has been emotionally and financially overwhelming.

As parents, their top priority is to be by their baby's side, providing love, comfort, and support during this critical phase. However, this has meant taking unpaid time off from their jobs, which can take a toll on any young family.

This is where we humbly ask for your support. We have created this GoFundMe campaign with the hope that our friends, family, and kind-hearted individuals who understand the challenges of such a situation might be willing to lend a helping hand. Your contributions will go directly towards covering The Haga family's medical expenses, and daily essentials, enabling them to continue to be present for their baby in the NICU.

Even the smallest donation makes a significant difference. Your generosity will not only alleviate the financial strain they are facing but will also provide them with the peace of mind to focus entirely on their child's recovery.

We are incredibly grateful for your compassion, prayers, and any support you can offer. Our hearts are full as we help the Haga's to navigate this challenging chapter of their lives, knowing that they are surrounded by a community that cares and that their baby is in the hands of a God who heals.

Thank you for considering our request and for being a source of strength during this time. We will keep you updated on the baby's progress and are eager to share the positive outcomes that your support will undoubtedly contribute to.
