The Hannah and Joseph Kim Family Fund

Many of you have asked how to support the Kim Family during this unbelievably challenging time. Hannah and Joe have been taking care of themselves and managing their family affairs for over a month while their parents and grandmother were hospitalized. Sadly, their grandmother and father passed away from COVID-19 in the past few weeks.

Church members have created an amazing meal train, bringing food and essentials to Hannah and Joe while they were quarantined. Others from their community want to contribute to help ease the family’s financial burdens in the months to come.

This fundraiser is to help the family bridge this sudden loss of income as their mom is still in the intensive care unit. Hannah is finishing up her final coursework at CalState LA and hopes this fund can help them until she secures a more permanent job.

During this time, Joe was accepted into the prestigious QuestBridge program! We hope this fund will also help with his higher education goals, as he will be applying to college next year.

Also, Hannah and Joe have asked for friends and family NOT to contact their mother directly. Their wishes are for her to focus on her recovery so she can come home as soon as possible.

코로나19로 할머니와 아버지를 잃고 어머니와 두 남매도 코로나 바이러스와 싸우고 있는 가족에게 여러분의 힘을 모아주세요!

전세계가 코로나19로 어렵고 힘든 시간을 보내고 있는 이 시기에 할머니는 지난 4월, 아버지는 지난 5월 21일 돌아가시고 어머니 역시 코로나 양성판정을 받고 위독한 상태이며 대학생 누나, Hannah Kim과 고등학생 남동생, Joe Kim마저 감염으로 의심되어 자가 격리 중에 있는 가족이 있습니다. 이 안타까운 상황에 처해 있는 가족을 돕고자 ‘고펀드미’ 홈페이지를 통해 모금 운동을 진행하고자 합니다.

힘든 상황에 있지만 California State LA 졸업반인 Hannah양은 무사히 학업을 마쳐 졸업을 앞두고 취업자리를 알아보고 있고 Joe군은 성적인 우수한 저소득층 아이들이 받는 퀘스트 브릿지 (Quest Bridge) 장학금을 수여하고 아이비 대학을 목표로 열심히 공부하고 있습니다.

현재 김씨 남매는 감염 의심 대상자라 격리 중에 있어 바깥 출입을 못 함에 따라 교회 사람들과 지인들이 음식과 필요한 물품들을 전달해주고 있는 상황입니다. 두 아이들은 자신들의 이야기가 언론에 노출되기를 원하지 않으며 중환자실에 입원해있는 어머니의 온전한 회복을 위해 사람들이 직접 연락을 취하지 않기를 바라고 있습니다.

어려움을 겪고 있으면서도 각자의 자리에서 최선을 다하고 있는 이 가족에게 도움의 손길을 주시기 원하시는 분들은 모금 운동에 적극적인 참여를 부탁드립니다. 그리고 주변분들께도 모금 운동에 대해 알려주시면 감사하겠습니다.
