Our Mission
We are committed to bringing comfort, adventure, and joy to children with life-threatening illnesses.
Our Vision
To provide hospital patients (focused on children with serious illnesses) with embroidered and colorful beanie caps along with virtual reality headsets that will transport them into a different world (i.e. hiking in the forest, swimming in the Caribbean, flying like a bird, riding a BMX bike, surfing, etc.).
We are beyond excited to bring these deserving children something to brighten their day and put a smile on their face as they embark on a journey that can be both scary and confusing. The goal is to ensure that while they are dealing with a heavy, and possibly painful reality, they have a safe place to escape, allowing them to feel free and at peace.
Why The Happy Head Project
After reading mind-blowing stats like these, we knew this was the perfect opportunity to MAKE A DIFFERENCE. We are a dedicated group of leaders on a serious mission to make MAGIC happen and be a source of inspiration and transformation in the world.
- Every day, 43 children of all ethnic, gender and socio-economic groups are diagnosed with cancer.
- The average age of diagnosis is six years old with a 12% mortality rate. What if your child or someone you know got to spend their 6th birthday in space, or mountain biking or exploring the deep sea rather than being reminded that you are in the hospital - sick?
- More than 40,000 children undergo cancer treatment each year.
Our Commitment
The Happy Head Project is committed to providing pediatric patients with high-quality virtual reality headsets that will transport them into a virtual imaginary playground along with a uniquely embroidered, colorful beanie cap to keep them warm and cozy on their journey.
How You Can Help
Our goal is to raise at least $50K in order to provide hospitals with these headsets to share with their patients. Each child will take home a beanie as a token of remembrance for an incredible experience, despite their diagnosis.
In order to make our vision a reality, we need your help.
Any amount counts. Just remember, with every $1 donated, you're making a huge impact on these children's lives. And ultimately, in the lives of their families too. They get to play in a virtual world and be transported to magical places beyond their wildest dreams! And for a brief moment, they can forget their pain and fear and remember what it feels like to be FREE again.
