The Heart Of Bellevue! Help update the Bellevue kitchen.

If the soul of L’Abri is the people that pass through its doors, then its heart must certainly be the kitchens that feed them. Chalet Bellevue has been home and shelter for countless people and has never let a guest go hungry. If you venture into the kitchen of that wonderful chalet, my guess is that you’ll feel a warmth. The warmth of the stove, the warm smile of a kind soul preparing a meal, or even late at night, just the warmth of a hard-working space, put to bed and taking a much deserved rest. Currently, a part of that warmth is growing increasingly intermittent. The Bellevue kitchen needs a new stove and oven. Long overworked and overdue, the old stove stands in need of a younger, but just as hard-working replacement. Take a look at our photos below, and help us keep the heart of Swiss L’Abri strong and in rhythm for the next generation in need of a home.

Alright, here's the plan!

First, take a look at our old friend:

The hope is to fill its place with two smaller units, side-by-side:

The new stove shown above is a representative model size, but the cost will likely be a bit higher in order to maximize the cooking capacity per stove.

Cost breakdown:

1. 2 stoves @ 5,000 CHF each

2. Removal of the old stove

3. Installation of the new stoves

Total estimated cost 12,000 - 14,000 CHF

Bonus: NEW OR REPAIRED SANITIZER!

Having washed countless cups and forks throughout the years in Bellevue, the old sanitizer ABSOLUTELY needs to be updated. The sanitizer is necessary to keep utensils and cups free of germs. Our very hopeful goal of 15,000 CHF reflects an extra amount for this part of the project.
