The Heemskerk Family and Mary Lake Marina

On January 10th, the community of Mary Lake, Port Sydney, and the surrounding area suffered a great loss when Jack Heemskerk passed suddenly, at the young age of 61. Together with his lovely wife Monique, Jack was the owner and operator of Mary Lake Marina, the only marina on our beautiful lake, providing boaters with gasoline, seasonal docking, boat and watercraft rentals. Jack was well-known and respected by the community and was always quick to lend a hand as a dependable and faithful friend, a generous neighbor, and a pillar of the Mary Lake community. Always smiling, Jack worked tirelessly fulfilling the various roles and responsibilities at Mary Lake Marina & Boat Rentals, while providing and caring for his loving family, and his departure has left them without a clear path forward to complete his work. The unexpected loss has left his family heartbroken, and moving forward there will be many obstacles that the Heemskerk family will have to overcome to complete and continue Jack's work and role in their family and our community. I am reaching out to our wonderful community to ask for your support to assist the Heemskerk family with the expenses that they will face in Jack's absence. They have some big shoes to fill, and their businesses will require restructuring to continue to provide the same service that they are known for. Your support will enable the Heemskerks to hire any necessary staff they may require to keep their businesses operating without Jack, complete some of the work that Jack was responsible for, and show your support and appreciation for Jack's contributions to the community, neighbors and friends.
