Become a Climate Hero: Support The HerbiCulture Project

Donation protected
In the face of the global climate crisis, and numerous health and wellness challenges, it is imperative that we unite and take action to heal our planet and create a solid path towards a healthy and sustainable future.

The HerbiCulture Project is a groundbreaking (pun intended) initiative led by Catherine Hunziker, a pioneer in herbal medicine, having grown Wishgarden Herbs, a recognized, mission-driven brand in the natural and organic market.

Catherine’s new HerbiCulture Project (HCP) brings together a network of Herbalists, Regenerative Farmers, Permaculturalists, Researches, Soil Health & Climate Specialists, National Supplement Providers, Agri-Voltaic Leaders, and more.

The HerbiCulture Project (HCP) has a mission of reintroducing medicinal herb crops at scale domestically as a solution to three critical issues:

1. Generate more lucrative crop revenues and happier soil for Farmers
U.S. farming has historically focused mostly on traditional crops that, unfortunately, no longer provide a steady income for farmers. The HCP intends to address this issue by establishing a demonstrational Receiving HUB to support the farmers on relevant growing aspects and facilitating access- to-market on scale.

2. Support a growing demand and need for sustainable wellness ingredients sourced in the U.S.
The U.S. herbal supplement market is a multi-billion dollar industry, but, as few people realize, the majority of medicinal plants used to make our herbal teas and supplements are sourced from overseas. There is a huge opportunity here for us, let’s bring medicinal herbs “back home”! This will allow us to participate more fully in this lucrative market with high quality organic/regenerative U.S. grown herbs. They will provide dramatic new sources of domestic revenue, while also increasing public awareness and the rediscovery of what herbs have to offer. Let’s call it Paleo Health because, “Our culture has forgotten, but our bodies remember!”

3. Introduce a game changing strategy that can dramatically improve soil health which is at the root of our climate crisis
As we are now learning, millions of acres of “dead dirt” (as opposed to “living soil”) is the #1 contributor to climate change. It is the life in the soil that interacts with the plant roots that makes it healthy soil and able to sequester carbon. Carbon sequestering soil is key in staving off and reversing the rapidly escalating climate crisis.

Medicinal herbs as crops, particularly on scale, can play a significant role in bringing degraded dirt back to life to start sequestering carbon again. Because most medicinal herbs are not annuals, we can regenerate and sustain soil health through perennialization, diversification, as well as implementing nature-mimicking and water-wise planting strategies.

Your contribution will help us:
  • Develop a GMP/FDA compliant medicinal crop Receiving HUB in Louisville, CO
  • Fund important research on plant adaptability factors, soil health & cost effective practices in the field with Farmers
  • Support solar array Agrivoltaics & Dryland water-wise growing projects and studies
  • Seek grants and obtain licesing to bring highly valued wild medicinals into sustainable cultivation.

Together let us create a brighter future!
