Friends, this is what Cavalier Theatre students have been waiting for for years...JF's one act competition play, THE HISTORY OF TOM JONES, placed in the top 2 out of 50 schools at the Virginia Theatre Association conference! These 28 talented, hard working students now have the long-awaited invitation and opportunity to take this show on the road to represent Virginia at the Southeastern Theatre Conference in Louisville, KY, February 26-Mar 1, 2020!
The 10 state region includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. The top 2 plays from each state compete on Thursday, Feb. 27 and Friday, Feb. 28, for the title of Best Production in the Southeast.
The price tag for registration fees, hotel, set transport, and charter bus is $20,000. Needless to say, we didn't factor that into this season's budget! LOL That's why we're asking for your help!
Please consider donating to this worthy endeavor by Jan. 15th! No amount is too small. Or too big! Are you a theatre fan? Cavalier Theatre Alumni? Just a nice person? Help put these great kids--and their very funny show--on the national stage in Louisville!
(Prefer to just write a check? Please make it payable to Cavalier Theatre Boosters!)
*** Cavalier Theatre will be giving a Pay-What-You-Can performance of THE HISTORY OF TOM JONES , Sunday, November 10th at 7:00pm, in JF Auditorium! The play runs 33 minutes, and YOU are cordially invited! All proceeds will go towards the SETC trip! ***
